Bohio is a small wine & tapas bar in Antwerp, so we know a first visit comes with a few worries. Here are the eight things guests ask us most — straight answers, no sales pitch.
“Is Bohio expensive?”
No. We are a neighbourhood tapas bar, not fine dining. Tapas plates sit in the €6–€14 range and are meant to be shared, so two people can eat very well for around €45–€60 including a glass of wine each.
If budget is the concern, ask for our daily specials board and the wines by the glass — you get the same kitchen and the same room without committing to a bottle.
“Do I need a reservation?”
Walk-ins are always welcome and we keep seats free at the bar for exactly that. That said, we are a small room: for Thursday to Saturday after 19:00, or any party of four or more, a reservation is strongly recommended.
Book by phone or through the form on our contact page. Same-day requests are usually fine for early evenings.
“Can you handle my dietary needs?”
Yes. Our menu is built on small plates, so it adapts easily. We always have vegetarian and several vegan options, and most dishes are naturally gluten-free or can be made so.
Please tell us about allergies when you book or when you sit down. Our kitchen handles nuts, shellfish, gluten and dairy, so we cannot promise a zero-cross-contamination environment — but we will be completely upfront about what is safe for you.
“Where exactly are you, and is it easy to get to?”
We are in the centre of Antwerp, within walking distance of the main squares. The exact address, opening hours and a map are on the contact page.
By public transport you are a short walk from the nearest tram and bus stops. By car, street parking in the centre is limited, so the parking garages nearby are the stress-free option — come a few minutes early on weekends.
“Is it just wine? I don’t drink much.”
Not at all. Wine is our passion, but nobody is here to police your glass. We pour Spanish and Belgian beers, cava, vermouth, soft drinks, house-made sangria and excellent alcohol-free options, including good 0.0% wine and beer.
Plenty of guests come just for the tapas and a sparkling water. Order whatever makes the evening yours.
“Can you host a group or a private event?”
We love groups — birthdays, team evenings, tastings. Because the room is intimate, larger bookings are best arranged in advance. For 8 or more guests we put together a shared tapas menu so the food keeps flowing and nobody has to order individually.

“Is it a good place to actually sit and talk?”
Yes. Bohio is warm and lived-in rather than loud and clubby — think candlelight, low music and tables you can hear each other across. It works equally well for a date, a catch-up with friends or a quiet glass on your own at the bar.
Families are welcome, and if you are looking for a calmer slot, come early in the evening or mid-week. If you want the buzz, Friday and Saturday from 21:00 is when the room comes alive.
“Do you do takeaway, delivery or gift cards?”
We are first and foremost a bar to sit in — the room is part of the experience. Some bottles are available to take home, and you can ask us to recommend or order a wine for you.
